This past week in Independent Study and Mentorship we have begun to create our base for the class and our portfolios that we will build on for the course of the year. These activities have been a learning experience for me as I often struggle with technology assignments as it can be very tricky especially when you have to create something. However, building this digital portfolio taught me patience with the technology, persistence when things got challenging, and the importance of the small details because these fundamental pieces for the class are extremely important.
Constructing these two websites of our digital portfolio and LinkedIn were very tedious tasks as they are the two pages that are primarily going to represent myself and my mission for the remainder of the year, so I had to really focus on creating them based on how I want to be represented. Finding the perfect template and color scheme was a struggle for me but after taking my time and not rushing through the assignment, I worked to find the page that hopefully best represents me and my ideals.
Also, constructing this page helped to magnify my interests and passions, as when I got to put down all the things that make me who I am on these pages they all center around helping others and my passion for that which continues to grow my interests. This is also reflected in my topic of study this year and furthers that passion as well.
These assignments that have begun formatting our ISM course have already challenged me in some ways, but have allowed me to grow and learn the importance of patience in the simple tasks in order to accurately represent me and put my best foot forward.
